Discover what healthy habits every parent should consider for their children to eliminate or prevent obesity.
If you worry about the obesity/overweight problem your child or teenager suffers from, first ask yourself: "Did I timely do everything to prevent my child from this issue?" The truth is that many children and teenagers face this problem due to their parent’s mistake. In most cases, parents do not seriously take into consideration their children’s nutrition.
So if you do too, then it is already time to be more careful and timely prevent all family from obesity:
1. Give your children 2 servings per meal instead of one meal with a slice of bread.
Every parent should pay attention to their children’s nutrition from their early ages, even from the first months. It is a very important moment to maintain your children’s health, especially strong immune system.
Therefore avoid giving them bread (especially white), cake, or rolls and buns.
Practical tip:
If your child has not had his fill eating without bread then let him eat the second serving. This would be more beneficial and healthier for his health.
2. Replace computer games with sports games or other kinds of family entertainments.
Today many children and teenagers have a bad tendency to play computer games or surf on the internet for hours. Even nowadays some of them suffer from internet diseases. There is even a rehabilitation center for internet diseases sufferers in China.
So if you want to prevent your children such internet diseases or other side effects (attention deficit disorder, weak eyesight, etc.) caused by computer, play sports games with all family together. Minimize the time spent by children and teenagers playing computer games up to 1-2 hours per day.
Practical tip:
Spend at least 2 hours a day or every other day playing various sports games such as basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, etc. This will be more entertaining and beneficial for all family, especially for your children. They will be keeping balance between the daily intake and waste of calories thanks to regular physical activity.
3. Get your children fall into a habit of drinking 4-6 cups of water per day.
Water is vital food in everyone’s daily diet. Every member of family, including children should have the necessary amount of water on a daily basis to be energetic throughout a day. But water is not essential for only total health and energy, but also for prevention obesity which has turned into one of widespread killers in the world.
Practical tip:
Give your children 4-6 cups of water every day to keep their metabolic system active through a day.
